Dr. Bhargava became Editor of the Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering (CJECE), and the hope was that the surplus from the conference would provide continuing financial support for the conference. At that time, both the CCECE and the CJECE were sponsored by the Canadian Society of Electrical and Computer Engineering (CSECE).

In 1995, CSECE merged with IEEE (The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Region 7 to form IEEE Canada. Since then, CCECE has been the annual flagship conference of IEEE Canada.

1. Fostering interaction and networking in the electrical and computer engineering R&D community coming from Canadian universities, industries and governments;
2. Serving as a "political" platform for leaders, thinkers and decision makers in industries, government and universities, who are asked to give plenary sessions; and
3. Providing a venue for presentation of major IEEE Canada awards.
