Travel Information

Getting Here

Newfoundland is located on the east coast of Canada, and Cape Spear - just 20 minutes outside of St. John's - is the most easterly point in North America. The most convenient way of getting here is, of course, is by air. Daily direct flights are available from various cities in Canada by Air Canada and Westjet. Continental Airlines offers direct service between St. John's and New York/Newark airport.

If driving from mainland North America to Newfoundland, you must use the ferry services provided by Marine Atlantic. Service from North Sydney, NS to Port-aux-Basques, NL runs year-round. Port-aux-Basques is approximately a 9-10 hour drive from St. John's. Please check the Marine Atlantic website for further details.
