IEEE Canada Areas

The local sections are grouped geographically into three areas (formerly councils) which usually meet twice each year. Please see the rosters (access restricted) page for the names of the area volunteers.

Canada West Area

The Canada West Area is comprised of seven Sections. The Area management committee consists of four officers, the seven Section chairs, and related activity chairs. The Area committee usually meet twice each year in conjunction with the IEEE Canada administrative meetings – typically scheduled in the spring and fall.

The purpose of the Area is to assist in the operation of its member Sections by facilitating cooperation and the sharing of ideas.

The Canada Central Area is comprised of six Sections. The Area management committee consists of four officers, the six Section chairs, and related activity chairs. The purpose of the Area Council is to assist in the operation of its member Sections by facilitating cooperation and the sharing of ideas.

Triennial Project

The Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (CCECE) as well as the Canadian Electrical Power and Energy Conference (EPEC) are normally held in each of the three areas on a rotating basis. For more information or to offer suggestions, please contact the Canada West Area Chair, the Canada Central Area Chair, or the Canada East Area Chair.
