IEEE Canada is the largest technical professional association in Canada with more than 18,000 members across the country. Majority of our members are from industry. A large portion of our member’s professional practice is closely tied to industry; either employed directly by industry or indirectly supporting industry in many different ways.
Industrial outputs, combined goods and services, accounted for 83% of the entire Canadian economy. We are committed to work on initiatives that address broader needs of the Canadian industry and for the greater well-being of the Canadian public.
Canadian industries are divided into multiple sectors and spread across different regions of the country. A good industry relations strategy must address this duality in a comprehensive manner. IEEE Canada is establishing direct dialogues with key industry associations and with key regional economic development offices respectively.
IEEE Canada offers media platforms and forums to facilitate dialogues between Canadian industry and the general public.
IEEE Canada is a leader in bringing together industry, academia, and governmental organizations in Canada; supporting and promoting initiatives connecting industry, academia, and governmental organizations in Canada.
IEEE Canada is very active at the grass root level through its members, volunteers and local sections on industry outreach activities.
IEEE Canada promotes and facilitates Canadian industry participation in IEEE Standard Association work; bring SA initiatives and activities to Canada and connect Canadian members and industrial players to their corresponding IEEE SA working groups.
