Industry Seminar and Networking

  • Date: Thursday, September 25, 2003 from 12:00 to 13:30
  • Location: Holiday Inn Winnipeg South (1330 Pembina Hwy.)
  • Speaker: Bill Kennedy “Re-regulation in the Power Industry”
  • Cost: $10.00 (IEEE members) $14.00 (non-members), and the first 50 IEEE Student Members are free.

Banquet and Award Ceremony

  • Date: Thursday, September 25, 2003 18:00-20:30
  • Location: Hotel Fort Garry (Broadway, between Fort and Garry)
  • VIPs and Speakers:
    • Mo El-Hawary “Students in IEEE and IEEE Canada”
    • Bill Kennedy “The Role of IEEE in Supporting Industry”
  • Award 1: “IEEE Canada Award” for U of M McNaughton Student Centre
  • Award 2: “Friends of IEEE” for Manitoba Hydro
  • Cost: $25 (IEEE members) $45 (non-members). There will be a cash bar. Tables are available at $500 each. Contact Sandra for more information.

IEEE Student-Industry Networking Event

  • Date: Friday, September 26, 2003 16:00-18:00
  • Location: Winnipeg Squash Racquet Club (275 Stradbrook Ave at Donald)
  • Speaker: Bill Kennedy “How to Find Meaning Jobs”
  • Presentation followed by a cash bar and complimentary catered reception, including complimentary wine and soft drinks.
  • Transportation provided to/from University of Manitoba and Red River College.
  • Audience:
    • IEEE students from University of Manitoba and Red River College
    • IEEE GOLD Members and invited industry representatives
  • Cost: Free for IEEE members (contact me if you are not a member and still wish to come)
